Hello!
My name is Yvonne and I have been married to my husband Guy for 11
years now. I have 2 daughters God has
blessed me with. I am blessed to have a wonderful job that fulfills my passion
to work with children and gives me the chance to make a difference in their
lives by being their teacher.
I was inspired by a local family’s story from my church Brazos
Fellowship. Jason and Kari
Segner founded Healing Faith in 2011. Their
goal is to aid in the ongoing battle of malaria, while showing the love, grace
and salvation of our Savior. They
accomplish this through building relationships with the people of the rural
villages and working to educate, equip and empower them in the battle against
malaria. You can learn more about Healing Faith online at www. h e alingfaithuganda .org.
I learned about an
opportunity to serve alongside Healing Faith in Uganda. At first I thought, “Wow, this is an amazing
opportunity for people…but not me.” I
have a family to take care of, the cost is too high, it is too far away. I thought of every excuse why it would not be
possible for me to serve these people in another part of our world, and yet God
knew His plan all along for me. I
continued to pray and ask God to show me His will, and He put it on my heart
that it is my time to serve these people in Uganda. Jesus said,
"Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his
friends" John 15:13. We lay down
our lives every time we put someone else's needs before our own. We lay down our lives through service. During my quiet time I opened my bible to Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the
Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.” this is when I knew I needed to serve.
So, with enthusiasm and
excitement, I will be joining the 2014 June Mission Trip Team with my church,
Brazos Fellowship. While in Uganda, we
will be working alongside the Segner family in their mission to provide mosquito
nets for families in Uganda to prevent the spread of Malaria. Malaria kills a child in Africa every 60
seconds. Most of these deaths are
children under the age of 5. Mosquito
nets treated with insecticide dramatically reduce the mosquito populations while
protecting children from the often fatal bites of malaria-infected
mosquitoes. We will be going to the
villages and hanging nets, educating the villages on Malaria prevention and
detection, de-worming the children, and most importantly we will pray with the
people of Uganda and share the truth of the Gospel.
God knows no bounds, and
I trust that He will provide for me and prepare me spiritually, emotionally,
physically, and financially for this wonderful adventure He is sending me on.
One tool He has supplied us all with is the body of Christ, the church, to partner
with this team prayerfully and financially.
I ask that you consider partnering with our team prayerfully,
financially, or both. Please commit to
pray God works in our hearts and gives us strength to be Spirit-filled witnesses to the ends of the
earth. Pray that the Lord would give the team boldness to share the Gospel and
open eyes of the people we encounter to see the truth of the Gospel. Secondly, please consider committing to a
financial partnership. I know this trip will cost a lot of money, and I feel
where there is a will there is a way, and God will provide if it is His will.
You can partner with me through a check, or an
online donation through Healing Faith. Make all checks
payable to Healing Faith with my name in the memo line (Yvonne Stone)

questions about the trip or Healing Faith, please do not hesitate to contact
me. I look forward to serving our God
and seeing what he has planned for me.
Thank you for your support.
In Christ,
