Jambo/Hello Blogger Nation
With a very positive and joyful attitude we greet you from Jinja, Uganda.
Our team is holding on strong, an amazing group of 7 women. All of our strengths are coming through and we are able to fulfill our mission in the village.
We have been able to visit one of the villages and put up nets. In only one day we visited 19 huts and put up 39 nets. Usually, there are at least two or three children sleeping under one net. The most amazing part is that each hut gets education about the nets and prayer. The village is very large and there is lots of walking. We even went up a small hill to be able to reach those that are most isolated. The big challenge in the small huts is to find a place to hang the nets. The huts are made of mud and there are very few places to hold the nets in place. It is so nice to see the people so proud of their homes. They welcome us and appreciate the work that is being done.
We did spend one day playing with the kids. We had four stations with various games like jump rope, volleyball and music dance off. It was a long day in the sun with lots of laughs and even our hair was done. Jason Segner gave a great lesson to the children. There were 7 cases of Malaria diagnosed that day.
Our team was able to visit the hut of Jonah, a child that very sick of Malaria the week before. His symptoms were so severe, that he had to be taken to the clinic. He was able to dance and play with all the children. It is such a blessing to see these miracles.
Thank you for all of your prayers and well wishes. We have a full day tomorrow with plenty of nets to put up.
