Well today was really exciting, it was our first full day here, and it was pretty incredible. We were surprisingly well rested, considering our guest house was directly across the street from a festival that went on till 2:30am
or so. After breakfast we loaded up and drove out to the village of Kagoma gate. I wasn't sure what I was expecting but it was a little shocking how excited the children were to see us, literally running up, smiling and waving before we got out. We started our visit with singing, playing, and visiting with the kids but God sent us there for more than that. Today we began teaching the villagers about malaria, what it is, how you get it, and how it can be prevented, as well as spraying homes with mosquito repellent and distributing mosquito nets. We had a sucsessful day as we were able to reach close to 100 homes on the first day of Healing Faith's malaria education project. Seeing the homes and conditions of the village, it certainly makes me appreciate how well we have things back in the states, but seeing and being part of Gods work is very rewarding. God is clearly at work here in Uganda and I am really excited to be a part of it.
