WE MADE IT!
PRAISE GOD! We all made it safe and sound!! Thank you so much for all of the prayers! They definitely came in handy!! The first plane ride went smoothly, but was 1 hr behind. Thankfully, it did not affect our connecting flight from London! We had plenty of time and made it safely to Entebbe. There was another team on board from London coming to Uganda! They all applauded when we landed safely :) lol. Unfortunately, not all of the flights luggage made it, but praise God that a majority of ours made it & that we made it safely! So please be praying that we get the rest of our luggage soon! But if not, we have a saying from the last trip....T.I.A. (This Is Africa)...so you go with the flow and just say, "Hey, TIA!" *with a huge smile on your face :D!!! But God well prepared us by packing extra stuff on our carry on that will come in handy! And only 2 of the 7 of us don't have our luggage. Our other team members have been so gracious to lend us anything we may need! God has us covered!!
The bus ride was only about 2 hours from Entebbe to Jinja thanks to our wonderful drivers! We got here about 3 am Ugandan time and crashed! We slept in until about 11:30 am and had a delicious lunch with the Segners, McMorris', and interns Katie and Greg! We ate Posho (which is almost like mashed potatoes, but is like corn meal made of maize) and beans (which tasted just like Mexican charro beans) So YUM!
Now we are enjoying some rest/quiet time, preparing for the work the Lord has for us within the coming days! I am so excited to be back in Jinja, it literally feels like I am coming home. Thank you all for your support in getting us here! I pray that God continually uses you all to be a blessing and to be blessed!! All for His Glory! Keep the prayers coming!
Thank you with lots of love!

3 weeks away!
Today marks 3 weeks to go until we leave for Jinja, Uganda!
PRAISE GOD for His hand in our fundraising! THANK YOUUUU to everyone who has contributed!! After a HUGE success at our last garage sale, we are getting closer to our individual goals to reach the goal per person for the trip. God has been SO FAITHFUL in His promise to provide what we need, exactly when we need it. His ways are not our ways, His thoughts are not our thoughts. Even if we think we have things perfectly planned, His plan is always the better one because He knows our hearts more than we even do. I love serving a God that loves His children unconditionally!! It is such a blessing!!
I wanted to say a big THANK YOU for all of the prayers and donations (items, monetary, time, etc) to our efforts thus far and ask for continued prayer for His will to be done June 25th - July 7th through us and continually through Healing Faith Ministry and all of the people who serve through them!! Prayer warriors are the BEST and I humbly ask that you keep all parts of Healing Faith and the people of Uganda in your prayers!! Thank you! I am so excited to finally be there & be in the villages with the kiddos singing, Chicky Chicky and dancing!! lol.
Last but not least, I ask that if you are reading this and haven't already donated, please pray about making a donation to the group to help get us through this last push of fundraising. I sincerely believe in God's superiority and that He has already placed the desire in the hearts of people that He wants to donate towards our trip. I am trusting that if it is you reading this, He has already told you or has tried to tell you. (lol we can be hard headed sometimes) And I will testify that He will bless your obedience overwhelmingly according to His will and purpose for your life. With that, I would also like to challenge you to stop today and recognize how He has blessed you thus far. Whether it is with nice things, education, children, marriage, a job....the list can go on and on. But just know that all good things come from heaven above. He loves us. Uncondtionally. Yesterday. Today. Tomorrow. Forever. I. Love. My. Jesus. God the Father. & Holy Spirit.
Have a blessed day my friends!

Baby Kits!
Do you have a pile of old baby things laying around? Or a gift card that has gone unused from Target or Walmart? Would you like to help us provide Healing Faith with Baby Kits?!!
In the US when one of our sweet friends finds out she is expecting, there is nothing but joy, and showers and love and support! We plan these elaborate showers, with beautiful decorations, and presents galore! Baby has everything needed, from burp cloths to the finest stroller!
But, have you ever wondered what it is like to have a baby in a third world country?
In Uganda, moms to be are not worried about whether or not they will have an epidural, they are worried about whether or not they will have the necessary things needed to give birth. And by necessary I mean plastic sheeting, razor blades, cotton wool (gauze pad), soap, gloves, cord ties, and a child health card. These are the basic things needed to give a safe delivery, and they are NOT provided at the local clinic. You must bring it. Can you imagine having to bring your own delivery items to the hospital! Thankfully there is an awesome organization in Uganda who gives them out, and who Healing Faith has created a relationship with in order to provide the mommas in the villages these kits.
However, in Uganda, mommas also do not have the basics for their babies like we do. Most of the time, providing a new baby with the bare minimum is difficult, at best. It is an area that Healing Faith wants to help with! And something YOU can be a part of!
Our team is looking to put together some Baby Kits to bring to Healing Faith so that they can then provide new mommas and babies with some essentials!
What is a Baby Kit?
1 receiving blanket, 1 onsie, 1 hat, 1 set of socks and a cloth diaper.
We have a pile of onsies (thank you Meredith!!) and want to ask for donations for the other things!
If you have old receiving blankets you are no longer using, or little baby hats, any of these things (even onsies!!) please let me know by email: rachel.driskell@yahoo.com
I will come pick them up, or meet you somewhere!!
Thanks in advance!!
