Hello Blogger Nation

Our team is less than a month away from leaving to Jinja!!! We had a great Fundraising Garage Sale at my sister's house. Lots of our friends donated and many people purchased our items. There is such a great spirit of community in Aggieland that is amazing.

As a Podiatrist  Assistant there is a great comfort to hear the sigh of relief from the family, when the doctor says "Patient is doing well, everything went as planned". It is called bedside manner, but not all doctors know about this concept. Fortunately, most of the doctors that I have encountered have excellent insight into the importance on comforting the patient and the family. I was fortunate to witness one doctor asking the patient, if it would be ok to pray. My doctors have been asked to pray with the family. And as a patient my doctor has prayed for me. There is such a warm and calming feeling when you know that not only a great physician is working on your case, but God who created all humans is leading the team:)

Healing Faith has the best doctors you have ever met. None of the staff have MD after their names, but they know how to comfort, calm and cure. Jason Segner has years of medical training, but his best  prescription in the villages is for the patient to drink water due to dehydration.  Kari is magnetically attracted to the child that needs to be held. Even Tom, the security guard, knows that his greeting and smile after a long day at the village will cure you of most complaints. The community that has been built in Jinja with Healing Faith is so contagious that all you want to do is talk about the Segner's and Healing Faith.

Thank you Lord for the wonderful blessings in our lives. I boldly pray that our mission team have phycisian hearts. That we not only help erradicate Malaria, but comfort, calm and bring God's Love as a cure. Amen

Running the Race

Isn't it funny when you hear the same Bible verses or topics from different people all around the same time!?! It makes you stop and think, are You trying to tell me something God?? Well He is! He has been speaking to me about running the race with self control, which takes patience and trust that He has it all planned out for me and will provide every step of the way.

Now, it is easy to say this, but hard to put those words into action. But it is the Truth - God's Word that tells us in Romans 5:3-6 'And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has given to is. For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.'

The hard times where we don't know how things are going to play out are the times that God is molding us into the woman or man of God that He created us to be, by working in our hearts. The hearts that He knew before we were even formed in our mother's womb. Even though we may resist His plan for us at times, He is right there waiting for us to go back to Him. And He will meet us, run to us with joy and open arms!! How awesome is that?!

I serve an Almighty, caring, kind, gentle, loving God. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Prayers for the people of Uganda, the Segner family, our team, our leader Rachel, our fundraising, and provision over the traveling and guidance in the work God has planned for us during our short time in Uganda, all in Jesus' Mighty name, amen!!

May God also bless abundantly all those that have prayed and donated to our trip!!! God sees your heart and will honor your obedience!! THANK YOU SOOOO SOOO MUCH!!! God bless you all who read this!

With Love In Christ,

Seek God Daily!

I often find myself worrying about things of insignificance here on earth. I realize that when I pray everyday, God not only clearly answers my prayers, he takes my worries away.  I often find myself worried about where the money for my trip is going to come from...and then I remember to give it all to God and seek him and he will provide.  I forget this is not MY trip.  This is His trip and He has already called me to be a part of this wonderful team and now I need to just seek him daily and pray through this opportunity he has given me. So my challenge for you this week is to seek God everyday and pray. I promise He hears you and is waiting for you to talk to him. This week I will pray daily for the mission trip team and pray that God uses us to do His will on this incredible journey!
